Join us for the first bi-annual deep mapping symposium!
​The symposium offers you the opportunity to learn about how you can join the Community Deep Mapping Institute Fellowship Program in 2027. Connect with the 2025 fellowship cohort and learn about how this program could benefit your project team and community. Present your current or proposed work to a community of scholars and practitioners who have shared interests in the digital and spatial humanities.

EVENTS INCLUDE:

  • Presentations from the inaugural cohort of NEH Community Deep Mapping Institute Fellows.
  • Research talks from Deep Mapping scholars and practitioners.
  • Field Trips developed by the “Mapping Forest to Furniture” team.
  • Networking opportunities with leading scholars and practitioners in the digital and spatial humanities.
  • Pitch your project ideas to join the 2027 NEH Community Deep Mapping Institute Fellowship Program directed by faculty at Michigan Technological University and Wayne State University.
