GARY SPIKBERG
(Senior Research Associate)

I am a MS student in the Industrial Heritage and Archaeology program.  I graduated from MTU with a degree in computer science. I worked on digitizing most of the Calumet fire insurance plans through summer 2016.  I also helped to supervise and train the students for the 2016 and 2017 summer GRACE program. Fall 2016 I worked on writing script to automatically text parse city directories from the Keweenaw from the 1880’s to the 1940’s.  Mostly my work has shifted over to other areas in the research facility, but I am still involved in project input and will likely hold some role in the upcoming 2020 projects.
