John Arnold and Don Lafreniere recently presented a paper at the 36th annual statewide preservation conference of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, held at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the Wayne State University campus in Detroit, May 12-14. The paper, "Passive Preservation: Vernacular Reuse of the Postindustrial Landscape," builds on work currently underway in the Historical Environments Spatial Analytics Lab. By: John Arnold
The Keweenaw NHP Advisory Commission and the National Park Service awarded the Keweenaw Time Traveler team a 2016 Keweenaw Heritage Grant. The $5,000 award will help support the creation of 2 kiosks that will travel to local heritage sites and summer festivals. Next summer look for the Time Machine on a Kiosk near you!
