Citizen Historian volunteers are working hard to categorize buildings and transcribe hand-written words on historic maps to make more information searchable in the Keweenaw Time Traveler.
One volunteer in particular, Antonia Burich, has completed ALL of Laurium 1888 in the "Document Building Use" app. THANK YOU ANTONIA! Now, she is working on the "Document Building Materials" app for 1888 and she hopes to complete all of her home town of Laurium.

You can help Antonia! Pick a map and a year and
see how much you can complete!

On your computer at home, the Document Building Use app will look like this (below). You choose a map and a year, click on a building to outline it in red, then choose the appropriate "building use" category button. Many buildings will be "Dwellings," but you will also find stores, garages, industrial buildings, and public buildings. Once three people choose the same category, that information becomes part of the Keweenaw Time Traveler for future research and exploring. The more we all get done together, the more fun the Time Traveler will be! Start the Time Traveler today!
